Sema Mutlu

Sema Mutlu (born July 27, 1969 in Trabzon , Turkey) is a German singer and composer.

Mutlu came to Bremen from Turkey in 1970 with her parents.

In 1996 she founded the rap / soul duo Mutlu with her younger sister Derya , which was supposed to draw attention to itself with German-language lyrics. The following year, the debut single and debut album are released. Udo Lindenberg then hired the sisters to accompany him on his bel canto tour with the Babelsberg film orchestra.

In 2001 Mutlu received the German Television Prize for their film music for The Scream of the Butterfly (1999) and another prize together with Paul Vincent Gunia , Tito Larriva and Derya Mutlu . However, a planned release of the soundtrack did not materialize. Mutlu has been a member of the Bremer Stadtimmigranten Orchester since 2004 .

In addition to her musical activities, Mutlu does vocal coaching and theater projects.
