Tito & Tarantula

Main article : Tito & Tarantula

"Tito & Tarantula" started out as an improvisation jam band, in which anyone who wanted could play. “We always had some kind of unwritten rule,” Larriva told Tucson Weekly in 1997, “and that rule is that everyone plays pretty much what they want. The band never rehearses anything beforehand. ”The band's history goes back to 1992, when Larriva and lead guitarist Peter Atanasoff performed weekly in bars and cafes.

The band made their debut on the soundtrack to Robert Rodriguez 's film Desperado , in which Tito Larriva was also allowed to play a small role, with the songs Back to the House That Love Built , Strange Face of Love and White Train . In 1996, the band's music appeared on a different soundtrack to one of Rodriguez's films, this time From Dusk Till Dawn , namely the songs Cucarachas Enojadas , After Dark and Opening Boxes (the latter still unreleased). In the film itself, Larriva, Atanasoff and their future drummer Johnny "Vatos" Hernandez appeared as the band playing in the bar. A year later (1997) they released their long-awaited debut album Tarantism , followed by Hungry Sally & Other Killer in 1999 and Little Bitch in 2000 . In 2002 the band released Andalucia in a new constellation . Since then the band has toured practically non-stop. Her latest album Back into the Darkness was released on April 4th, 2008.

Film career

Larriva's first role as an actor was "Hammy" on The Pee-wee Herman Show in 1981 . He went on to take on notable supporting roles in big budget films such as Born in East LA , Road House , Coffee, Milk and Sugar , Desperado , From Dusk Till Dawn, and Sometime in Mexico . He often works with his friend, director Robert Rodriguez . He played a small role in the 1991 Oscar-winning short film Session Man .

At Grindhouse , he played a brief role in the fake trailer for Machete .
