Tito & Tarantula is an American rock band that became famous worldwide for their appearance (as a musician and actor) in the film From Dusk Till Dawn in 1996 . The After Dark played in it is their most successful song to this day.

Band history

The band was formed in Los Angeles in 1992 by Tito Larriva from Mexico (formerly with the 1970s and 1980s punk bands Plugz , Flesh Eaters , The Impalas , Cruzados ), guitarist Peter Atanasoff and drummer Johnny "Vatos" Hernandez founded. Tarantula refers to the SF horror film of the same name by Jack Arnold from 1955. Tito & Tarantula started as a fun project with live performances in various clubs and cafes in Los Angeles, which increasingly attracted more audiences. It was there that they first met director Robert Rodriguez in the mid-1990s . This helped Tito Larriva to a smaller role in Desperado and the band contributed three songs to the soundtrack. A year later the aforementioned film From Dusk Till Dawn followed (with two soundtrack titles). In 1997 the first album Tarantism was released , with From Dusk Till Dawn director Robert Rodriguez among the producers, who was now a friend and supporter of the band. The ten titles also include four pieces from the two films mentioned.
