Lesbian nightclub singer Jane is fed up with New York City . She wants to leave the city and for financial reasons teams up with the real estate agent Robin. They set up a carpool to get out of town. During a stopover, they meet Jane's friend Holly. An argument between Holly and her criminal friend finally becomes violent and ends with the women handcuffed him to a chair. Holly joins the two women. Over time, this unequal trio becomes more and more friends. You decide to start a shared apartment. Robin has to confess to the other two that she is HIV positive. As Robin's health worsens, Jane feels more and more drawn to her. The friendship of the three women is finally put to the test when it is discovered that pregnant Holly not only knocked her boyfriend out, but killed him.
