Jonathan "Jon" Seda (born October 14, 1970 in Manhattan , New York City , New York ) is an American actor .

life and work

Jon Seda's parents immigrated to the United States from Puerto Rico . He grew up in Clifton and was first involved in boxing. After some sporting success, he got a role in the drama Zebrahead in 1992 . For the lead role in the film I Like It Like That (1994) he was nominated for the Independent Spirit Award in 1995 . In the SF thriller 12 Monkeys (1995) he appeared alongside Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt . From 1997 to 1999 he played the role of Detective Paul Falsone in the television series Homicide . For this role he was nominated for the American Latino Media Arts Award in 1998 and 1999 .

In the drama Selena: An American Dream (1997) he played the role of Chris Perez , the husband of Selena Quintanilla-Pérez , who played Jennifer Lopez . For this role he was nominated for the 1998 American Latino Media Arts Award . In 2000 he received the Margo Albert Award as the Most Promising Actor ( Most Promising Actor ). From 2004 to 2005 he played in the television series Kevin Hill , from 2006 to 2007 he took on a role in the series Close to Home . In the HBO mini-series The Pacific Seda in 2010 played the role of US Marines John Basilone . Since 2012 he has played in a supporting role as Antonio Dawson in the NBC series Chicago Fire . Since January 2014 he has also been one of the protagonists in its spin-off Chicago PD.In September 2016, it was announced that he would switch from Chicago PD to the new spin-off Chicago Justice over the course of the 2016/17 TV season .

Seda has been married to Lisa Gomez since 2000 and has four children. He lives in the suburbs of Philadelphia .
