Semacode
Semacode (Greek. Semaion "sign") is a Canadian company and at the same time chosen by the company marketing designation for a data matrix of standard ISO / IEC based 16022 Data Matrix -Codesymbol in which a URL encoding is.
With the appropriate mobile phone software that can DataMatrix -Codesymbol of camera phones are recognized and serves for fast access a Web or WAP page on the phone without tedious typing in the address. In the meantime there are several implementations of such data matrix reading software from different providers, but mostly not free of charge.
One project with Semacode in the area of public mobile tagging was Semapedia . This now uses the QR code .
