The Senevita Group , based in Muri near Bern, is a provider of inpatient and outpatient care. It accommodates and cares for around 4900 elderly people at home (Spitex services in 26 branches), in nursing homes or in assisted apartments at 29 locations. The Senevita Group employs over 4,300 people and around 200 apprentices. The Senevita Group has been part of the French ORPEA Group since 2014 , which operates 951 care and health facilities.
history
Senevita was founded in 1989 by Philipp M. Zemp as an operating company for residential and nursing homes. In the years that followed, the company took over the operation of a wide variety of retirement institutions on a mandate basis.
In 2000, with the takeover of the Dammweg company in Bern, the first company was opened. This was followed by other houses in the canton of Bern and then, from 2004, the Bornblick residence in Olten, the first residence in another canton. Further facilities in the cantons of Aargau, Zurich and Freiburg were added and in 2008 the group comprised eight houses. In 2008, Zemp sold Senevita to the Austrian SeneCura, which drove further growth in the cantons of Basel-Stadt and Lucerne and expanded the group to 13 companies by 2014. In 2014, the French Orpea took over Senevita, which now (2019) comprises 29 companies.
In October 2016, Senevita took over Switzerland's largest private Spitex organization, Spitex für Stadt und Land AG. Spitex for town and country operates 26 branches. The Clinica Holistica has also been part of Senevita since July 2018 . The range of services at the clinic in Susch specializes in the treatment of stress-related diseases.
In 2017 the company founded the Senevita Academy training center. The course program is aimed at both employees and external parties and includes IT, the hotel industry, care and support as well as leadership and vocational training.
Services
The company offers serviced apartments and care places. If required, services such as apartment cleaning or meals can be obtained in the supervised apartments.
Senevita also offers services for people with dementia . In Spreitenbach she runs a specialized department for people in need of care of southern origin. In addition to the operation of its own facilities, Senevita is also active in the area of planning and advising various stakeholders such as care facilities, communities and builders.
