Sennedjem (18th dynasty)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sennedjem was a high ancient Egyptian dignitary at the end of the 18th Dynasty ( New Kingdom ) under King Tutankhamun . He carried various titles, including "Head of Teachers", "Father of God" and " Wedel-bearer on the right of the king ". Sennedjem is known with certainty only from his grave near Achmim . He shared this with the "head of the wet nurses", Senqed . In the grave are the names of Tutankhamun, with which Sennedjem officiated with certainty under this ruler. In the tomb there are clear indications that Sennedjem's memory was being persecuted. His name and picture have been hacked several times. So at the end of his career he fell from grace and his memory was persecuted. The grave and its representations are very destroyed today. Noteworthy is the image of a king riding a chariot. The king is accompanied by another person. Inscriptions are not received. The king and his companion remain unknown.
