The Senpiro waterfall ( Japanese 千尋 の 滝 , Senpiro-no-taki ) is a waterfall on the southeast side of the island of Yakushima in the prefecture of Kagoshima and has a height of about 60 m. The Japanese name of the waterfall 千尋 ( Senpiro , literally “1000 hiro ”) means “great height”. On a hill on the south side of the waterfall is a viewing platform at 270 m above sea level, which can be easily reached by car. Therefore, the site is known as a representative lookout point on Yakushima Island.
