Sepp Kahn (born April 8, 1952 in Itter ) is an Austrian writer .

life and work

Sepp Kahn was a farmer in Itter before he handed over his farm to his children "on time". The motif of the timely handover runs through the author's literary work. His decade-long alpine summer with a self-sufficient lifestyle shape his writing style, which he sometimes calls "handmade".

Sepp Kahn is regarded as a representative of ironic, rural literature, the protagonists only play seemingly naive types, but who literally have a lot of fist behind their ears. In his anecdotes and calendar stories, the turmoil of the idyll can often be seen. The images presented are compact in terms of their motifs, but in terms of size they have often gotten out of hand. The apparently robust mountain farmer runs against the official walls and fences of tourism when he comes down into the valley.

In the story Three Farmers on Pilgrimage , three old farmers try to make a pilgrimage through Tyrol as they did in their childhood. But you have to give up because the land is completely concreted and sealed and no longer allows walking.
