Septicflesh (formerly known as Septic Flesh ) comes from Athens , Greece . Stylistically, she combines technical death metal with atmospheric gothic metal elements. Since their reunification in 2007, they have been working on their albums with the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra .

history

The band was formed in March 1990 and released the demo Forgotten Path in 1991, which was followed by the EP Temple of the Lost Race in December of the same year . A promo cassette, which contained two tracks from the EP, the piece Morpheus (The Dreamlord) , led to a contract with Holy Records.

In April 1994 the band recorded their first album Mystic Places of Dawn in the Storm studio with Magus Wampyr Daoloth of Necromantia as co-producer. The title Return to Carthage was also released on the nuclear blast compilation Death Is Only the Beginning III . In June 1995 Esoptron was released and in May 1997 Ophidian Wheel , which (as well as later the album A Fallen Temple ) was made in the Praxis studio with Lambros Sfyris as co-producer.

After the band absorbed Natalie Rassoulis and neoclassical influences, their new pieces became more theatrical and technical. In September 1998, the band's first video clip, The Eldest Cosmonaut , appeared on the limited release The Eldest Cosmonaut (DNA Chorozone) , which consisted of a video cassette and a four-track CD.

In June 1999, Revolution DNA was recorded at Fredman Studios with producer Fredrik Nordstrom , and it was released in October 1999. To advance their careers, the band worked with Harvest Management to find a new record company. In 2001 Septic Flesh signed with Hammerheart Records and recorded Sumerian Daemons at Fredman Studios in the summer of 2002 . Older influences can be heard on this album again. In 2003, Septic Flesh dissolved, but was re-established in 2007 under the name Septicflesh. That same year the band began work on the sixth album, which was released in 2008 under the title Communion via Season of Mist . The following two albums, Titan and Codex Omega , were also released through Season of Mist. The band has been under contract with Nuclear Blast since August 2018 . At the same time, the band announced that a new album should be released in 2019. [outdated]
