Sergei Nikolayevich Glinka
Sergei Nikolajewitsch Glinka ( Russian Сергей Николаевич Глинка , scientific transliteration Sergej Nikolaevič Glinka ; * 1774 ; † 1847 ) was a Russian writer .
Life
In 1796 Glinka went into military service as a lieutenant. From 1799 he lived as a farewell major in Moscow . From 1808–1821 he published the Russian Messenger , which until 1813 exerted a great influence in the patriotic sense against Napoleon .
Glinka was known as a writer for young people, for example through the multi-volume Russian story for young people or his 12-volume reading for children from 1821.
