Sergej Larin (singer)
Sergej Larin , Russian Сергей Ларин ( March 9, 1956 in Daugavpils , Latvian SSR - January 13, 2008 in Bratislava ) was a Russian opera singer ( tenor ).
Life
At the Vienna State Opera from 1990 to 2000 he sang ten roles in the Italian, French and Russian fields in 44 performances (including Don Alvaro , Radames , Cavaradossi , Don José , Lenski and Grigori Otrepjew ). In 1998 he played the title role in Verdi's Don Carlos at the Salzburg Festival .
A complete recording of the Miserly Knight by Sergei Rachmaninow , played by the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra under Neeme Järvi (released by Deutsche Grammophon ), dates from 1996 . There is a Turandot DVD from 1998 in which he can be seen and heard as Kalaf.
