Sergio Balbinot

Sergio Balbinot (born September 8, 1958 in Tarvisio , Italy ) is an Italian insurance manager. He has been a member of the Board of Management of Allianz SE since 2015 .

Career

After graduating from school in 1977, Balbinot studied economics. He has been with the Generali Group since 1983 ; from 1983 to 1986 initially at the subsidiary Deutscher Lloyd Insurance in Munich . After three years at the corporate headquarters in Trieste , he was head of the Swiss branch in Zurich from 1989 to 1992 . Until 1995 he then worked as director of Europ Assistance S.A. in Paris . In 1995/1996 he was head of management for the German-speaking countries and France. He then held positions of responsibility in the group management before becoming CEO in 2002.

Since January 1, 2015, he has been a member of the Board of Management of Allianz SE , responsible for insurance business in the countries of Western and Southern Europe (France, Benelux, Italy, Greece, Turkey) and Africa excluding North Africa. Since September 1, 2015, he has also been responsible for the insurance business in the Middle East, North Africa and India.

Balbinot is a member of the supervisory boards of various international subsidiaries, including a. at Allianz France SA, Allianz SpA, Allianz Sigorta AS and Allianz Yasam ve Emeklilik AS
