Serienjunkies.org is a German-language website that provides hyperlinks to films and TV series and has been online since the end of 2007. These enable free downloading, in some cases prior to publication in Germany, through broadcast media. Therefore, the site is associated with copyright infringement . According to Alexa Internet , the site was one of the 400 most visited websites in Germany in 2014 .

The operators also take part in the public discussion on the topic of the distribution of entertainment media over the Internet: "'The price [from videoload.de] is outrageous', the makers of serienjunkies.org also criticize on request."

The series and films on offer are stored in the form of multi-part, password-protected RAR archives on the servers of share hosts . Current series are recordings from satellite programs without commercials and mostly with station logos or from video-on-demand portals such as Netflix or ITunes Store , with older series often so-called DVD rips are used if no better material is available.

For a while, however, hyperlinks to streams were sometimes offered.

After disputes with the site owner, the long-standing team of series junkies has had its own warez site at SerienFans.org since the end of May 2020.

Legal position

While making available and uploading the series without permission from the rights holders is illegal, the legality of the linked website is in most cases controversial.
