Service driver
Service driver is an apprenticeship designation for a profession, the recognition of which was planned for August 1, 2005 and was implemented.
The service driver is a link between the company and the customer , which means that he takes on a large part of the tasks between the company and the customer that are otherwise divided between several people. The advantage of this is that the administrative burden rests on one person. During their training (company and vocational school), service drivers receive a broad basic knowledge that can be further deepened as required (e.g. accounting, scheduling, logistics and basic IT skills for in-house use, basic knowledge of communication and service, including dealing with the customer is guaranteed, furthermore in the areas of dangerous goods, load securing, storage securing and much more).
activity
Service drivers deliver goods . They plan their daily routes , load their vehicles and deliver the goods to customers. Sometimes they also set up devices at customers' premises or maintain them. In any case, service drivers provide an additional service for or for the customer, which is why the profession of service driver differs significantly from the profession of CEP drivers (CEP = courier, express and postal service providers) who only deliver.
Service drivers are employed in companies that provide services to customers. These are e.g. B. Companies in the textile rental service or companies that deliver and set mobile sanitary systems or office machines and instruct them in their use. Service drivers spend a lot of time in their vehicles. When they set up or maintain equipment, they work on-site at the customer. If they put together tours or deliver goods for retailers, they sometimes also have work to do in the customers' storage rooms.
education
Service driver is a recognized training occupation after Berufsbildungsgesetz ( BBiG ). The mono job is trained without specialization according to subject or focus in companies that provide services to customers and, in this context, deliver and collect goods. The training lasts 2 years.
