Sextus Aelius Catus

Sextus Aelius Catus was an early Imperial Roman politician from the plebeian family of the Aelii .

Aelius Catus was consul together with Gaius Sentius Saturninus in year 4. Together they adopted the Lex Aelia Sentia . He ordered around 50,000 Geten who had previously lived north of the Danube to be relocated to Thrace .

Aelia Paetina , who married the future emperor Claudius in 28 , was probably his daughter.
