Shagnasty Iceland (English, translated for free Vile-cormorants Island ) is a small, rocky and unvereiste island in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands . It is located 500 m west of Lenton Point in the northern part of Clowes Bay on Signy Island .
Scientists from the British Discovery Investigations roughly mapped them in 1933. The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out measurements and naming in 1947. It was named after the unpleasant stay there because of a large colony of blue-eyed shag ( Phalacrocorax atriceps , English imperial shag ) with the associated noise and stink of feces.
