Shake Hands is a German-language hit by Drafi Deutscher and his Magics . With the text written by Joachim Relin and the music in the twist rhythm by Heino Gaze , the German DECCA released the piece in February 1964 as a single with the reverse side Come On, Let's Go . Christian Bruhn was the producer .

Shake Hands ( shaking hands ) has a length of 2:15 minutes and the departure of the faithless lover to content. This is made clear by the lines "... your heart loves someone else, that's why I release you".

The piece was Drafi Deutscher's third single, and it reached number two in the single charts in Germany. The song was listed for the first time in the top 50 of the music magazine Musikmarkt on April 1, 1964 . In total, Shake Hands was in the top 50 for 24 weeks; 16 weeks of them in the top ten. In the annual music box of the youth magazine Bravo , the song came in fifth place.

Shake Hands has been covered several times , including by Die Toten Hosen (album Unter Falscher Flagge ).
