Shanghai Interbank Offered Rate
Shanghai Interbank Offered Rate ( SHIBOR , 上海 银行 间 同 业 拆放 利率) is the daily reference rate in interbank business that is fixed every working day at 11:30 a.m. (Beijing time). These are rates that the 18 qualified most important banks in the circle of Pan-Chinese Interbank Offering Center (全国 银行 间 同业拆借 中心) in Shanghai set at which they borrow or receive money from other banks on the market.
The Shibor is published for very short and monthly, up to annual quotes. For the renminbi , actual / 365 is used as the day count convention .
Shibor interest are ( O ffered) offer interest rates .
The Shibor is published by the National Interbank Funding Center in Shanghai.
Assortments of the Shibor
So far, 8 ranges of Shibor are offered:
- Overnight Shibor
- 1 week Shibor
- 2 week Shibor
- 1 month shibor
- 3 month Shibor
- 6 month Shibor
- 9 month Shibor
- 1 year Shibor
For example, the 3-month Shibor is the interest rate today (t = 0) for the next 3 months, i.e. the spot rate .
