Burkhard Mohr
Burkhard Mohr (* 1959 in Cologne ) is a German caricaturist , painter and sculptor .
Life
From 1978 to 1984 Mohr studied painting and sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich . From 1984 to 1986 he continued his studies in sculpture at the Académie-des-Beaux-Arts in Charleroi .
He draws for the Süddeutsche Zeitung , the Handelsblatt, the Bonner General-Anzeiger , the Stuttgarter Zeitung, the Osnabrücker Zeitung (NOZ), the Hamburger Abendblatt, the Sächsische Zeitung and others. a.
According to FR editor Hanning Voigts , a caricature Mohrs published in the “Süddeutsche Zeitung” in 2014, depicting Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg as the world-dominating octopus , used the old image of the “international Jew” in the manner of the “ striker ”: hooked nose, fleshy lips, curly hair and lustful grins. After the caricature was criticized as explosive, Mohr replaced the octopus' face with a blank screen.
Mohr is married and has two children. He lives and works in Königswinter .
