Shanta ( Sanskrit , Nepali : शान्ता; Hindi , Marathi : शांता) is a female given name .

The first name used, among other things, in Indian means in Sanskrit pacified / calm, calm / quiet / peaceful / mild / relaxed . In the Hindu epic Ramayana , this is the name of a daughter of King Dasharatha .
