The Shaolin Chan Temple Switzerland (瑞士 少林 禅寺) was opened in 2000 and, as a culture center, has enabled comprehensive training in the physical and mental areas of the various Shaolin arts since then. Around 200 students train in the Shaolin Chan Temple Switzerland, who are supervised by over 15 instructors. It now also has branches in China, Spain and another location in Switzerland.

The style head of the Shaolin Kung Fu style family Wang is Shi De Feng (释 德 锋). His master student, as well as founder, main master in the Shaolin Chan Temple Switzerland / Lucerne and head of the various schools is Shi Xing Long (释 行 龙, Roger Stutz).

history

Training in Shaolin Chan Temple

The school in Lucerne (Switzerland) was founded in 2000 with three students and a hall. The Shaolin Chan temple is located at the foot of the Pilatus , large pieces of forest and the Renggbach shape the area. In 2007 the temple was dedicated and opened. Another large hall, the Hall of Inner Harmony, followed in autumn 2008. At the same time, the first daughter school (Traditional Kung Fu Institute China) was opened in the village near Shaolin / China. A big show was held for the 15th anniversary. In 2016 Shi Xing Long published the book The Virtues of Shaolin Kung Fu . At the beginning, Kung Fu was mainly taught in the Shaolin Chan Temple , later other arts were added. The last to open in 2019 was the Calligraphy Center. Over the years, schoolchildren have won well over 30 podium places at major national and international tournaments such as European and World Championships. The Shaolin Chan Temple Switzerland is regularly represented in the media. In the summer of 20 a documentary about the life of Shi Xing Long (Roger Stutz) will be released.

One of the main concerns of Shi De Feng and Shi Xing Long is the networking of the various Shaolin arts. It is planned for the future to strengthen the individual arts even more and to make them accessible to the world population in their entirety.

The Shaolin system describes a timeless way to transform body and mind holistically. This includes methods of physical and mental health maintenance as well as spiritual development. It offers natural methods of a holistic lifestyle. It is also an extremely efficient self-defense system. The Shaolin System enables the practitioner to live a happy, healthy and natural life.

The Shaolin tradition consists of three pillars - Chan禅 - Wu 武 - Yi 医 -. The Shaolin system is based on Chan, the inner state of meditation . To cultivate this, methods of struggle - Wu - and medicine - Yi - have developed over the past 1500 years .

This is the family tree of the Shaolin Kung Fu style family Wang. The style of Kung Fu Wang family has a high priority in the Shaolin Kung Fu history and goes down to Bodhidharma , the founder of Chan - Buddhism back.

The living head is Shi De Feng (李先锋, Li Xian Feng). At the age of five his will to learn Kung Fu was so strong that his father brought him to one of the most famous Shaolin Kung Fu masters. His name was Wang Fu Qing (王福庆, 1943–1996)

In the monastery Shi De Feng was allowed to learn from the late Grand Masters Shi De Chan (释 德 禅, 1907–1993) and Shi Su Xi (释 素 喜, 1924–2006). Shi De Chan was honorary abbot of the monastery and taught him ancient traditions. Shi De Feng also learned regularly from Grandmaster and Abbot Shi Xing Zheng (释 行 正, 1914–1987).

Shi De Feng received his Buddhist ordination at the age of 18 and then acted as one of the chief instructors in the monastery .

Another of his teachers was Liu Bao Shan (刘 宝山, born 1930). Liu Bao Shan is the founder and grandmaster of the Tagou (塔 沟) School which opened in 1978. Shi De Feng learned from him and worked for a long time in the Tagou School as a Jiao Lian (instructor). He mainly taught Kung Fu and Sanda there .

In 2003 Roger Stutz was accepted as a master student by Shi De Feng and was given the name Shi Xing Long by him. Roger Stutz is the official lineage holder of the Wang family and Shi De Feng's first master student. Roger Stutz is responsible for the main management of the Shaolin Chan temple schools. He is also an author and expert on traditional Shaolin Kung Fu and Buddhism.

In 2006 Roger Stutz accepted his long-time student, Thomas Degen, as a direct master student and thus joined the Wang Kung Fu family. Thomas Degen received the name Shi Yong Wen (释 永 文) from Roger Stutz.

In the same year Roger Stutz and his master student Thomas Degen were officially accepted into the order of Shaolin by the honorable Shi Yong Xin (释永信), the abbot of the Shaolin monastery . Roger Stutz received the Buddhist name Shi Yan Long (释 延 龙) from him, Thomas Degen the Buddhist name Shi Yan Wen (释 延 文). Both received monastic identification as Sujiadizi (俗家 弟子)

In 2018 Joonas Tolvanen was accepted and was given the Buddhist name Li Yu Long (李 御 龙). Joonas is a writer on Shaolin in Finland.

In 2018, Serge Kaulitz was accepted into the Shaolin Kung Fu family Wang and was given the Buddhist name Shi Yong Cheng (释 永 诚).

Training program

In order to be able to preserve the essence of the art and culture of Shaolin, to ensure quality along the line of tradition and to be able to make a contribution to the further development of teachers, the teaching situation and society, the Shaolin Chan Temple runs the SGS training system (Shaolin Chan Temple Graduation System - Shaolin Chan Temple Graduation System).

Further fields of activity

In addition to its members, the Shaolin Chan Temple takes on other tasks for the regional, national and international population. This includes guided tours, ceremonies, weddings, baptisms, abdications and end-of-life care. Personalities also give regular lectures in the Shaolin Chan temple and teach in their fields.

It also enables public performances in traditional Kung Fu and lion dance, weekend and week stays for internal and external parties, lectures and seminars for companies, publishes articles on Shaolin-related topics and teaches at and for schools.

In 2019 the project "Meditation in Schools" was started.

Locations

The Shaolin Chan Temple Switzerland and thus the main location is in Lucerne in central Switzerland . The premises cover around 600 square meters and extend over two large training halls, sanitary facilities, a kitchen with dining area and the temple complex.

In the Traditional Shaolin Kung Fu Institute China the living head of this style, Shi De Feng, teaches a small number of internal and external students.

The Shaolin Chan Temple Institute Aargau is the second school in Switzerland in which the Shaolin arts are taught. The main teaching master is Shi Yong Lin (释 永 林, Salvi Ferrara).

Shaolin Chan Temple Lucerne

Shaolin Chan Temple Institute Spain is run by Shi Yan Jia (释 延 加, Pedro Estevez Gil), who had a martial arts career. The school has existed since 1984.
