Shaolin Wuzang (originally Shaolin Kids ) is a Chinese-French animated series from 2006.

action

Terror reigns in the 17th century Chinese province of Henan. The demon Heihu has escaped from his thousand-year prison and is spreading suffering across the country, along with his criminal entourage, the black foxes . In their need, the provincial lords and the peasants turn to the noble knights of the Shaolin monks, the protectors of the innocent.

Master Sanzang , head of the Shaolin monastery, remembers the old story of the three Shaolin monks who had managed to banish Heihu a millennium ago and he goes in search of the reincarnations of the three knights, because only they can Heihu conquer. But when he finally finds the three, he has to realize that they are still children who first have to be taught the art of Kong Fus in order to then become mighty knights of the Shaolin order, in order to meet it Face demon.

For the three teenagers Hua, Cheng and Tang an adventure begins, full of hard training hours and exams. The training of the three is an introduction to ancient knowledge of magic, spells, healing arts and martial arts - ancient secrets that the Shaolin monks carefully guard. The Shaolin students now have to assert themselves against Heihu and his criminal assistants, the eternal struggle between good and evil will be fought again through them. It is particularly about the two books of wisdom, because whoever owns them can become the ruler of the world with the knowledge stored in them. After Heihu has stolen one from the Shaolin monks, he does everything in his power to get his hands on the second book. So it is up to the three heroes to forestall him.

Hua

The feminist is way ahead of her time. As the first girl in the Shaolin Monastery, her goal is to show that girls can fight like boys, or sometimes even better. She has a strong personality and an iron will that helps her to assert herself against everyone. She is often impatient because of her ambition.

Tang

The only son in a high family is accordingly well trained in reading, writing, sword fighting and politics, which also leads him to appear arrogant and arrogant, because he feels superior to others with his knowledge. His passion is science, which often portrays him as a bore, but makes him an enlightened thinker. He doesn't believe in myths, legends or magic and always tries to find a reasonable answer.

Cheng

He grew up in a large family of farmers. He is well versed in nature, knows what effects certain herbs have and can tell whether the weather will be good or bad. Having lived as a farmer, he was taught and believed in the ancient legends of the land from childhood, which often brings him into conflict with Tang, for whom magic does not exist.
