Shaoshan (municipality)
Shaoshan ( Chinese 韶山 乡 , Pinyin Sháoshān Xiāng ) is a municipality in the independent city of Shaoshan , which belongs to the administrative area of the independent city of Xiangtan in the central Chinese province of Hunan . Shaoshan has an area of 65.62 km² and around 24,200 inhabitants at the end of 2011 (population density 368.8 inh / km²).
Attractions
Mao Zedong's birthplace, which has been converted into a museum, is located in Shaoshan Village and is a popular destination for domestic and foreign tourists. It is supplemented by numerous other facilities (including a bronze monument, Mao Zedong Museum, ancestral temple of the Mao family).
Administrative structure
Shaoshan is made up of 17 villages. These are:

- Huaqiao Village (花 桥村);

- Village Shaoyuan (韶源村);
- Shishan Village (石 山村);
- Shitang village (石 塘村);
- Shizhong Village (石忠 村);
- Tiepi village (铁皮 村);
- Village Xinhu (新湖村);
- Zhuji Village (竹 鸡 村).
