Sharamentsa

Sharamentsa is a settlement in eastern Ecuador in the Pastaza province .

The settlement is located about 30 km from the border with Peru , southeast of Puyo, on one of the many source rivers to the lower reaches of the Amazon. 103 members of the Achuar people live in it, which now comprises only around 3000 people.

In Sharamentsa there is a collaboration with the Amazonica pilot project . The residents are currently preparing an ecotourism project with a hotel and solar energy systems for science tourism , also to protect the intact tropical lowland primary forest there.
