ShareTheMeal is the donation app of the World Food Program of the United Nations , with which users donate money directly to children in need.

description

With an amount of 70 cents, one child can be provided with food for a day. The app went online in 2015 for iOS ( App Store ) and Android ( Google Play Store and Amazon Appstore ). As of May 2020, according to the company, more than 60 million meals had been financed.

However, children are actually not provided with food on 70 cents a day. The original amount of the donation was 40 cents. In July 2020 this amount was increased to 70 cents, but associated with it was only a significant increase in marketing expenses: "62% flow directly into the nutrition of families in need. 28% are invested in fundraising and marketing. This is how we build our community and we can help even more people in the future. 6% will continue to be used for operational costs of our organization and 4% will continue to cover payment fees in the future. " This means that the percentage of those classified as "low" by the DZI has been increased to "reasonable".
