Sharqi Dynasty

Also known as the 'kings of the east', the sultans of the Sharqi dynasty ( Arabic الشرق, DMG aš-šarq  'the East') ruled the independent sultanate of Jaunpur from 1394 to 1479. During this time, the city of Jaunpur experienced a heyday in education and culture.
