Sheena - Queen of the Jungle (Comic)

Sheena - Queen of the Jungle is the title and main character of an adventure comic. Similar to Tarzan , she wears a leopard skin , grew up as an orphan in the African jungle and can talk to wild animals. She founded her own, the so-called "Jungle Girl" genre.

Sheena was created by Will Eisner and Jerry Iger (under the pseudonym "W. Morgan Thomas") and first appeared in 1937 in the British magazine Wags # 1. In the spring of 1942 she was the first comic hero to get her own magazine, even before Wonder Woman .

A television series based on the comic was shot in 1955/56, and in 1984 Sheena the film Sheena - Queen of the Jungle was released . In 2000 the series Sheena - Queen of the Jungle followed .
