Shijian-12 (German: Exercise 12) is a Chinese experimental satellite.

history

The satellite, developed by the Shanghai Space Technology Academy , was launched into low earth orbit on June 15, 2010 at 3:39 am CEST by a two-stage Long March 2D launch vehicle from the Jiuquan launch site in Gansu Province . It should serve experimental scientific and engineering purposes and investigate the environmental conditions in space as well as carry out measurement and communication tasks.
