Shimmer Chinodya

Shimmer Chinodya (* 1957 in Gweru in the midlands of today's Zimbabwe ) lives as a writer and screenwriter in Zimbabwe. He has been publishing novels and children's books since 1982.

Life

His novel Harvest of Thorns (1989), 1990 winner of the Commonwealth Writers Prize , appeared as buckthorn harvest in 1991 in German. In 2000, Chinodya was nominated for the Caine Prize for the novel Can We Talk . In 2005 he received the Zimbabwean publisher 's award for the children's book Tale of Tamari and in 2007 the Noma award for African literature for the novel Strife (2006), which was published in German in 2010 under the title Zwietracht .
