Manfred Loimeier

Manfred Loimeier (born 1960 in Passau ) is a German journalist and Africanist.

Life

Manfred Loimeier attended the Leopoldinum grammar school in Passau and studied German, art history and philosophy in Tübingen, Vienna, Basel and at the Free University of Berlin. He works as an editor for the newspaper Mannheimer Morgen in Mannheim. In 2005 he received his doctorate in comparative literature from the University of Bayreuth . Since then he has also worked as a lecturer for African literatures at the University of Heidelberg and the University of Mannheim. In 2010 he completed his habilitation in Heidelberg and was appointed adjunct professor there in 2018.
