Masahiro Shinoda
Masahiro Shinoda ( Japanese 篠 田 正浩 , Shinoda Masahiro ; born March 9, 1931 in Gifu , Gifu Prefecture ) is a Japanese director and screenwriter.
Shinoda began his career with the Shōchiku film company as an assistant to Yasujirō Ozu . Together with this he became director of the company and, along with directors such as Susumu Hani , Hiroshi Teshigahara , Koreyoshi Kurahara , Yasuzō Masumura , Nagisa Ōshima , Yoshishige Yoshida and Shōhei Imamura, founder of the Japanese New Wave ( Noberu bagu ). From 1965 he headed the independent film production company Hyōgensha .
