Shotokan Karate International Germany

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Shōtōkan Karate International Germany eV (SKID) is one of six different national Shōtōkan - Karate associations ( Japanese 松涛 館 shōtōkan ). It is the national umbrella organization of the Shotokan Karate International Federation, represented in over 100 countries worldwide, under the direction of Hirokazu Kanazawa Shihan (10th Dan). The SKID is affiliated to the SKI Europe and the SKI Federation and has dojos throughout Germany.

Almost all national SKI associations have Japanese chief instructors. The basic objective of the SKID is to preserve the traditional Shotokan Karate with its three pillars - Kihon , Kata and Kumite . Particular importance is attached to the fact that Shotokan karate is not taught and practiced as a martial art, but as a martial art.

Akio Nagai Shihan (9th Dan), national trainer of the SKID, sees himself and the Shotokan Karate International as the keeper of the traditional Shotokan Karate. At SKID, a lot of emphasis is placed on tradition, discipline, modesty and the precise execution of karate techniques. In addition to these probably most important points, sporting competition is also promoted, also according to strict traditional guidelines.

The Shotokan Karate International Federation has created a clear concept worldwide, from which it emerges that only Shotokan Karate is practiced - in training, on courses and championships.
