Siakanie

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Siakanie (jabłonkowanie, sziakanie) is the same (semi-soft) pronunciation of the sibilants ś, ć, ź, dź and š, č, ž, dž . It occurs in the Teschen dialects in the Jablunkov region as well as in some goral dialects in Slovakia . It was probably created by mixing Silesian and Minor Poland settlers.

A typical example is the following sentence:

  • Masina jedzie po sinach do Ciesina i piści.
