In cooperation with the Thai Tourist Office, the Thai Embassy in Berlin and the Thai Consulate General in Frankfurt, the Siam-Journal was founded in 1992 by Axel Ertelt , Halver and Wilfried Stevens, Düsseldorf, to represent the Thai culture in Germany and the German-Thai culture Promote relationships . The founders of the Siam Journal are married to a Thai woman and are therefore deeply rooted in the kingdom. The first issue appeared in early 1992 and was subtitled A Magazine for All Friends of Thailand . In the beginning the journal had a total length of 24 pages and was published 4 times a year. After two years, the magazine also took over bilateral relations between Thailand and Switzerland and Austria, and increased the size to 36 pages. The subject areas of the Siam Journal were activities and information about Thai cultural associations and Buddhist Thai temples in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as well as the dissemination of cultural and official dates and event information. A close cooperation with the Thai Embassy in Berlin and the Thai consulates and its passing on of news and appointments confirmed the recognition. The broad spectrum of the magazine also includes topics such as Thai culture, history, Buddhism and religion as well as further information from Thailand and reviews of books about Thailand. The magazine was discontinued on December 31, 2003 with issue 46.

Special editions

Through relationships with Thai business owners of Thai restaurants, two special editions of the Siam Journal were created. In 1995 the issue of Thai Food was published in Germany , with hundreds of addresses and information about Thai cuisine . Two years later, the second and expanded edition of Thai food took place in Germany and Switzerland . Both editions were also highly praised by the Thai Restaurant Association.
