Siam Park in Costa Adeje

The Siam Park is a water park in the south of the Canary Island of Tenerife in Costa Adeje . The park cooperates with the leisure and animal park Loro Parque in Puerto de la Cruz in the north of the island. The 18.5 hectare area is held in the Thai style and advertises as "The largest water attraction in Europe". The park was opened by the Princess of Thailand, Maha Chakri Sirindhorn .

history

Construction on Siam Park began in 2004 and cost around 52 million euros. The opening was planned for May 2007, but had to be postponed to September 17, 2008 due to construction problems. The original plans for Siam Park included a roller coaster, but emphasis was placed on completing the first section of the park so that it could open on time.

The Thai theme has been implemented on all rides , buildings and restaurants. The park owner Christoph Kiessling , son of Wolfgang Kiessling , received permission from the royal family of Thailand to use Siam in the park name. In order to fulfill the wishes of the royal family, he renounced royal squares, temples or statues of Buddha.

Technical information

The park was built on a hill which is perfect for slides . Siam Park is considered the first Green Water Park . The park has its own water treatment plant . This pumps 700 m³ of water from the sea into the system every day. There the water is converted from salt water into fresh water and heated to 25 ° C.
