Sibylle Schefczik (* in Salzburg ) is an Austrian concert pianist .

Musical education

Schefczik received her first piano lessons at home. During her high school years, Sibylle Schefczik won several prizes at the Jugend musiziert music competition at the state and federal level, followed by award-winning concerts and radio recordings. After graduating from high school, she studied at the Mozarteum University of Music and Performing Arts in Salzburg with Kurt Neumüller , later with Hans Leygraf and graduated in 1987 with a concert diploma. Promotion prizes, scholarships for talented students and attending master classes (among others with Karl-Heinz Kämmerling ) supplemented her training.

Concert activity

Sibylle Schefczik had good reviews in her solo and chamber music evenings , among others in Salzburg, Vienna, Pula, Linz, Innsbruck, Winnenden, Reutlingen, Landshut, Lausanne or at the Leitheim Palace Concerts . In 2006 she started a joint literary-musical project with “reading concerts” with Peter Kemptner. She gives piano and chamber music evenings at home and abroad and, in addition to her concert activities, works as a teacher.

repertoire

Sibylle Schefczik's repertoire ranges from the literature of baroque music to contemporary music. She developed particular preferences for the interpretation of the works of Johann Sebastian Bach , Ludwig van Beethoven and Claude Debussy .
