Security card (vehicle)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A security card is one of the record sheets required across the board by ADAC , which, according to ADAC recommendations , shows important vehicle-related data by make . It makes work easier for rescue workers in the event of a traffic accident and can shorten the time between the accident and the admission of accident victims to a hospital.

It is intended to provide information on the points at which the fire brigade should open a vehicle that has crashed in order to save time in the rescue of seriously injured persons, not just using rescue scissors or spreader ( predetermined breaking points ). The background to this is that, on the one hand, the vehicle casing is becoming more and more difficult to crack and valuable time is unnecessarily wasted. On the other hand can Airbag - gas cylinder rescuers and crashed vehicle occupants threaten when these cause ignorance of their position in the vehicle accidentally afterwards. This very information should be noted on the security card.

The rescue card is now provided by many manufacturers. The car manufacturer Daimler AG used them to train rescue workers.

Mercedes-Benz and smart are the first automobile manufacturers in the world to use the rescue card in the sticker as a QR code. All information on the structure and construction of a model can be called up quickly on site by rescue workers via smartphone or tablet PC. To be on the safe side, the QR code is attached in two places, both of which are rarely damaged: in the fuel filler cap and on the opposite B-pillar.

All current model series will be equipped with the QR codes for rescue workers with immediate effect. smart and Mercedes-Benz drivers of vehicles from 1990 onwards can have the QR code retrofitted quickly and easily.

At the European level, the FIA is promoting the distribution of the rescue card via the Rescue-Sheet.Info homepage.
