Circlip pliers

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The snap ring pliers , also called Seeger ring pliers, is a special pliers to snap rings or retaining rings to be mounted on shafts or in bores. There are two types of circlip pliers:

in bore
On the one hand, locking rings or snap rings for bores are attached with locking ring pliers, which press the ends of the locking ring together when used. Also known as an internal circlip.
on wave
In the other case of the snap ring on a shaft, expanding pliers are used. The retaining ring is inserted into the groove provided on the outside of the shaft and spread apart during assembly.

The front ends of the circlip pliers are usually round and can have grooves in the longitudinal direction.
