Expanding pliers

Expanding pliers for the assembly of shaft circlips

An expanding collet is a special pliers that opens unlike other pliers when compressed. It is used, among other things, for mounting circlips for shafts , for inserting piercing rings ( ball closure rings ) or in the medical or veterinary field. In some cases, the tips are provided with grooves to prevent the ring from slipping off.

Handling when piercing

The pliers head is inserted into the ring and the ring is expanded by pressing the pliers handle. Because of the widening, the closing ball can now be used. If you let go of the pliers, the ring holds the ball in place due to its material tension. The ring is then firmly closed.
