Manuel Pereira da Silva (born December 7, 1920 in Porto , † 2003 ) was a Portuguese sculptor .

The work of Manuel Pereira da Silva is on the one hand close to abstract art , but on the other hand is based on the representation of humans. In 2000, Manuel Pereira da Silva received an award for cultural achievements from the City Council of Vila Nova de Gaia .

education

From 1939 to 1943 he attended the College of Fine Arts ( Escola Superior de Belas-Artes ) at the University of Porto . During his studies he was awarded two prizes, "Teixeira Lopes" and "Soares dos Reis".

In 1946 and 1947 he studied in Paris at the École des Beaux-Arts .
