Sidonie de la Houssaye
Sidonie de la Houssaye , birth name Hélène Perret , pseudonym, Louise Raymond (born August 17, 1820 in Edgar, † February 18, 1894 ) was an American writer .
She was the daughter of the Creoles Françoise Pain and Ursin Perret and received a bilingual education in English and French at St. John the Baptist Parish . She had eight sons and a daughter with Alexandre Pelletier de la Houssaye.
After her husband died in the Civil War , she worked as a teacher in Franklin .
