Advice programs and everyday magazines had already been very popular with viewers of GDR television since the early 1960s, which led to a large number of these broadcast formats well into the 1980s. In the program, partnership topics were mainly discussed, for example housekeeping and apartment design. Raising children, marital problems and divorce were also discussed, which was a novelty on the GDR television at the time, especially since these topics were dealt with without the proverbial "raised index finger". Exemplary mottos of the program were, for example, “Household book in the family”, “Lighting design in the apartment” or “All about the floor”, but also more intimate topics such as “No time for tenderness”.

The double DVD Das Beste aus dem Ratgeber-TV , published in 2014 in the DDR-TV-Archiv series , features an episode of Sie und He and 1000 questions from 1979. The topics of the program included “Young people wanting children”, “The baby is here” and “Self-laid flooring”.
