Heimgarten settlement

The Heimgarten settlement is located at Heimgarten 1-74, Erkrather Straße 428-438 in Düsseldorf-Lierenfeld . The settlement was built in the style of homeland security architecture as an example of the "more individually designed garden city colony".

description

The listed estate is an example of the housing reform around 1920, which was determined by the garden city idea. Like the model housing estate at Nordfriedhof and the Meistersiedlung, this settlement is characterized by garden city architecture. Towards Erkrather Straße, the settlement shows a four-story development. The settlement has a concave facade where there is an overbuilt gate. Behind it are two-story row houses, the basements of which open onto the gardens at the rear of the houses. The houses have either a gable or a hipped roof. Lucarnes divide the roofs, the windows rest on strong Gurtgesimsen .
