Siegburg Composition Competition

The Siegburg composition competition is announced annually by the Engelbert-Humperdinck-Gesellschaft Siegburg and organized by the Engelbert-Humperdinck-Musikschule Siegburg under the patronage of the mayor.

The composition competition is aimed at children, adolescents and adults without age restrictions and is advertised with changing line-ups.

In 2007 the competition took place for the 19th time, and the first prizes were awarded to Oliver Drechsel and Rudolf Sutthoff-Groß. Well-known prizewinners in recent years have included: Shigeru Kan-no (2004 to 2017), Sabine Salzer (2006), Franz Surges (2003 and 2005), Hermann Seidl (2005), Lars Straehler-Pohl (2006), Bettina Weber ( 2002), Royoka Yamataka (2016), Patrik Hahn (2014), Yasutaki Inamori (2017), Wataru Mukai (2017) and Peter Rack (2016).
