Siemens PT88

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The PT88 printer from Siemens belongs to the PT80 printer family and was a high-performance matrix printer at its time , which was available as a needle or ink printer for continuous paper . The printer was controlled by a microprocessor ; this enabled individual programming via various interfaces ( RS232 , TTY interface or Centronics ) or plug-in program modules. The PT88 was already maintenance-free, preventive measures such as oils, greases or the like were no longer necessary. In 1986 the printer cost around DM 2,400.

It was also available in the version for wide paper in A3 format, this version of the printer was called PT89 .

The last devices were built by Mannesmann Tally (still with the Siemens label). On October 1st, 1992 the production of new devices was finally stopped.
