Sigismund (bell)

The Sigismund Bell ( Zvon Zikmund in Czech ) is the largest of the seven bells in St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague and the largest bell in the Czech Republic . This bell is still rung by hand by four people to this day.

The sound of the bell is e 0 , its weight is estimated at 14.5–16.5 t and its diameter is 2.56 m. It was cast in 1549 by the Thomas Jarosch bell foundry in Brno and is dedicated to Saint Sigismund of Burgundy .
