Sigma Chi

Sigma Chi ( ΣΧ ) is one of the compounds of male students in the United States . This socially influenced association was founded in 1855 at Miami University in Oxford , Ohio . She belongs to the Miami Triad .

Sigma Chi had seven founding fathers: Benjamin Piatt Runkle, Thomas Cowan Bell, William Lewis Lockwood, Isaac M. Jordan, Daniel William Cooper, Franklin Howard Scobey, James Parks Caldwell. To this day the motto of Sigma Chi In Hoc Signo Vinces is ("In this sign you will win!"). The colors of the association are gold and blue, their symbol is a white cross. Its headquarters are in Evanston , Illinois . Sigma Chi currently comprised 213,535 brothers with 233 chapters in colleges and universities in the United States and Canada, and 145 student groups around the world.

On November 16, 2006, the first meeting of the European Sigma Chi Alumni Chapter took place in London . This was the first alumni chapter outside the United States and included around 200 Sigma-Chi alumni.
