Dusk Forest is a district of the municipality of Schermbeck in North Rhine-Westphalia .
Geographical location
The single-farm settlement Dämmerwald is 12 km northwest of the core town of Schermbeck on the district road 13 north of the forest area Dämmer Wald , from which the place name was derived. The district is limited to the west by Marienthal and Weselerwald , to the north by Raesfeld , to the east by Alder and to the south by Damm . The entire local area is part of the Hohe Mark-Westmünsterland Nature Park .
history
Dusk forest was first mentioned in 1163 as "Demmerwalt". Until the end of 1974, Dämmerwald was an independent municipality in the office of Schermbeck, Rees district . On January 1, 1975, as part of the reorganization in North Rhine-Westphalia, the communities Schermbeck, Altschermbeck, Bricht, Damm, Dämmerwald, Gahlen, parts of Overbeck and Weselerwald form the community Schermbeck.

Education and sport
There is no school in Gloamwood. The district is a member of the Brünen-Weselerwald-Dämmerwald school association. The schools are located in Brünen . In the local area there is a shooting community that celebrates its shooting festival every third weekend after Whitsun.
